Customer Reviews

1st time in town. Saw the sign from the main street & looked inviting..Waitress / barkeep was working alone & it was a nice size crowd. She was very friendly & quick with the (previous table) orders and She listened to our order & we were set! The food came out in a timely manner & was delicious! Food cooked perfectly & she checked on us for accuracy & more drinks. She cleaned the other tables efficiently & joked with others... She is truly an asset to the place.. Everyone was happy. Nice clean place / has slot machine area and large TVs that were great to watch some football . Aways from home (2 hours..but we'll make sure we go back!) Right across from Bicycle statue!

This place was definitely worth our short drive off the interstate. I had the Cuban and the smoked pork was awesome. Ladies split the tenderloin and it was just as good. Prices where reasonable for a late lunch. Very clean and nice bar & restaurant. This will be our go to spot from now on when in the area.

Port Byron has some great scenic views of the Mississippi River. I really haven't taken advantage of them enough - I mostly just drive on through to and from work. This particular Friday, however, I needed to take it easy before really starting for the day, i.e. grab some lunch, ponder the day for a bit etc. With that in mind I decided lunch at Ram's Riverhouse was in order before getting to work for the afternoon. I needed a burger in between work at home and doing stuff at site. There are only about three or so blocks of businesses along both sides of Main Street in Port Byron - this place is situated near the Southern end of this strip with a pretty great view of the river. I can envision sitting out at one of the small outdoor tables in the summer, just taking in the Riverfront with a few beers and a sandwich of some type. It's a little cold right now though, so I opted for indoor seating. The inside of Rams is an interesting combination of the past few decades. The space itself looks very new - clean wood laminate floors, drop ceiling, a TouchTunes machine, and the usual set of video slots that I think pretty much all bar/restaurants in Illinois are legally obligated to have now. There's also a multicade from the 80s right near the front entrance, as well as a not insignificant collection of Riverdale Rams items behind the bar. The name of the bar is starting to make sense now... I opted for a soda and a burger of the BYOB variety with bacon, pickles and onions. The burger was out to me within 10 minutes of ordering. It's one of the better burgers I've had at a bar recently. There was nothing fancy about it, just a solid burger with some tasty toppings. The bun was a stand-out in this case however - the little bit of frying on the grill top with some butter took things to the next level. It had those slightly crispy buttered bread bits on it - always a nice addition to a burger! As with some of the other places along Main Street, I want to come back in the summer when it's a little warmer and I can sit outside. I look forward to this return visit. Thanks Rams Riverhouse!

Chandra is the best, she was very professional. Chandra provided service that exceeded my expectations. Other places don't have staff like Chandra. I was impressed.

What an absolutely perfect pit stop! We were traveling from California to Pennsylvania along the 80, in a hurry and decided it was time to sit down and have a meal- I cannot tell you how happy we were to stumble upon rams riverhouse, only 5 minutes off the highway, plenty of parking in the CUTEST town, quality food served with smiles, we sat outside on a lucky cool enough evening, and were delighted to enjoy a meal looking at the Mississippi River. We happened to sit down within a few minutes of one of the partial owners and had the most pleasant conversation. 10/10 recommend!
